A 1-day workshop on Wednesday 17th of May 2017 in Madrid, Spain

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to attend a one-day workshop and discussion session on the topic of "Raising the Lifetime of Functional Materials for CSP".
The workshop will be held at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, in Spain on 17th of May 2017.

The RAISELIFE project was funded in the EUs Horizon 2020 program and started in April 2016. The project focusses on raising the lifetime of key functional materials for CSP technologies:

  1. Protective and anti-soiling coatings for primary reflectors
  2. Very high-reflective surfaces for heliostats
  3. High-temperature secondary reflectors
  4. Receiver coatings
  5. Corrosion resistant high-temperature metals and coatings for steam and molten salts

The aim of this workshop is to disseminate project results and to bring together the main actors of industry, plant owners and researchers related to the topic of material and component degradation in the CSP field. We hope that you will be able to attend and look forward to your input and views on the challenge of enhancing the lifetime of CSP components.

Further information can be found on the agenda.

To attend, please complete the registration form and send it to Victor Encinas (vencinas@ucm.es) until the 12th of May 2017. For any questions, please contact Florian Sutter (florian.sutter@dlr.de, +34 950 277 684).

A 1-day workshop on Thursday 28th of November 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany

The RAISELIFE project was funded in the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and started in April 2016. The project focuses on the development of materials with increased lifetime and performance for CSP. Novel solutions of the following materials are being developed: 1) protective and anti-soiling coatings for glass reflectors, 2) thin-glass composite reflectors for heliostats, 3) high-temperature secondary reflectors, 4) absorber coatings for tubular solar tower receivers, 5) absorber coatings for non-evacuated line-focus collectors, 6) abrasion resistant anti-reflective coatings for glass envelope tubes, 7) corrosion resistant high-temperature metals and coatings for molten salt. The testing activities involve outdoor exposure and accelerated testing in climate chambers and under concentrated solar radiation. Finally, a techno-economic analysis is conducted using system simulation tools with the aim to determine the economic benefit of the newly developed materials compared to the state of the art.

The second RAISELIFE dissemination workshop will be held at the Vallourec Research Center Germany (VRCG) in Düsseldorf on 28th of November 2019. We are happy to offer you the opportunity to attend.

The aim of this workshop is to disseminate the results after 44 months of project implementation and to present and discuss best practices on degradation monitoring, O&M and economic assessment of material degradation.

Further information can be found on the agenda.

Lunch and refreshments are included. Participation is free of charge.

To attend, please complete the registration form until the 4th of November 2019 (extended). For any questions, please contact Florian Sutter (florian.sutter@dlr.de, +34 950 277 684).
